Our client is a Multi Disciplinary Consultancy with 3,900 staff operating world-wide. They undertake a wide range of high profile, technically demanding projects and have developed a reputation for technical excellence, innovation and project delivery and being an employer of choice.

The Role:
They are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in thwe North West.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Meet and liaise with clients regarding ongoing and future projects
• Carry out detailed design tasks (calculations, specifications and product selection) regarding mechanical issues (hydraulic, pneumatic and winch driven machinery) on a variety of maritime related structures i.e. linkspans, passenger walkways, lock and dock gates, swing or lift bridges or similar moving type structures.
• Maintain overview of ongoing projects regarding production / deadlines and their financial status including the delivery of a positive result for the RH work scope.
• You will report to the Project Director and Technical Director.
• Visiting site and attending various contractor / client meetings.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Commercially aware and technically competent
• Good all round knowledge of planning and project management.
• Able to carry out mechanical designs to current codes and standards based on your own experience and skills.
• Liaise with clients and their staff at all levels.
• Be an excellent communicator internally and externally.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with Chartered status or demonstrate a competence to equivalent levels.
• Demonstrate extensive experience in the maritime / water’s edge / off-shore Mechanical engineering industry.
• You will have awareness and an understanding of the PUWER and LOLER regulations.
