Senior Project Manager

£60,000 - £85,000 per annum
Our client provides Engineering, Design, Procurement and Construction services to Customers throughout the world, operations are divided into five Business Lines; Olefins, Petrochemicals, Refining, Upstream and PMC.
The role of the Senior Project Manager entails management of all phases project activities covering a range of scopes that include studies, FEED/Basic Engineering, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Operation. An SPM directs preparation of work plans, supervises project teams, and manages project scope, budget and schedule. Other duties may be assigned when appropriate, including sales support and proposal preparation.
The base location for this position is Milton Keynes, England. Business travel will be required on a regular basis. Assignments ranging from 3 months up to 2 years are more may be necessary.
You will be responsible for all phases of set-up, planning and execution on small to medium projects as defined by potential risk, complexity, manpower requirements and contract value.
In addition you may take the role of Proposal Manager, with overall responsibility for the proposal from its inception through development of narratives, man-hour and cost estimates and their appropriate approvals, through to final collation and issue.
You work closely with the business development group in the support of building client relations and building new business.
You may have responsibility for multiple projects and or proposals at any given time.
Primary tasks
Plans, organises, coordinates, and controls projects in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements.
Responsible for ensuring full risk management, including the identification of potential risks and initiating treatments as appropriate.
Establishes and monitors project safety and quality programs.
Supervises project personnel; through subordinate leaders as appropriate.
Coordinates and facilitates smooth interaction between intercompany departments as appropriate, including engineering, procurement, construction, cost and project controls.
Providing appropriate reports and feedback to senior management through both formal and informal reviews.
Represents the company to customer and maintains customer relationships.
Education and Experience
Qualification in project management or equivalent.
Demonstrated leadership skill.
Knowledge of project management techniques and tools including development of Work Breakdown Structures and logic networks.
Industry experience showing progressive career development in a variety of roles.
Direct work experience in a project management capacity, preferably in the EPC environment.
